Most charcoal on the market is mass-produced from mangrove wood or compressed sawdust, often with chemical binders. Sumizumi BBQ charcoal is different: it’s made from Japanese hardwood, fired by hand in a traditional kiln in Niyodogawa, Kochi Prefecture.
The result? Charcoal that burns clean, produces minimal smoke, and lets the true flavor of your food come through.
